The Commonwealth Home Support Program is designed to deliver base-level support but as your needs become more complex or intensive, you may be referred for a Home Care Package (HCP). The initial access for this support is through MyAgedCare phone 1800 200 422 to register or you may like to drop in at our office and we can send a referral on your behalf.

Once your needs have been accessed and identified a referral will be sent from MyAgedCare to a provider of your choice.

No Interest Loan NILS Scheme is a great little organisation run by Bellingen Neighbourhood Centre, that offer people who have a current health care card or Pension Concession card, who have lived in the Bellingen Shire at your current address for three months. a 'no interest loan'for a range of different household appliances such as furniture, computers, whitegoods, medical equipment and also car repairs and registration (conditions apply). Loans are available for up to $1500 free of interest charges and fees (to purchase multiple items) Terms can be up to one year and repayments will be recycled to provide loans for other people in the community.

You may be eligible for a No Interest Loan if -

                    You hold a current Health Care Card or Pension Concession Card.

                    You recieve a Centrelink payment or you are in receipt of a low income ($45000 for an individual after tax)

                    You have lived in the Bellingen Shire at the current address for 3 months.

                    The item is new and sold by a registered Business.

                    You have the capacity to repay the loan

                    You do not have an outstanding NILS loan

NLIS does not provide emergency financial assistance and is not available for - Bonds or rent, Rent or mortage arrears, Living expenses, Utility bills, cash advances, debt repayment, payments to a third party for private sale.

MOWOpen Arms Care provide Meals on Wheels to senior members and people with disabilities within our community. They deliver nutritious meals, social interaction and a friendly check of the clients well being. Dorrigo Plateau Men's Shed Inc. is located at 23a Myrtle Street Lane it is open Tuesdays and Saturdays 8am - 12pm Woodwork classes are conducted on Wednesday 9am - 1pm . Membership is $40.00 per year and is open to all ages and it's not only for men! Ladies can become members too. Disability Accessible Amenities.

cwa1Our local Country Women's Association Ladies hold a Social Morning every tuesday starting at 10am at the CWA hall. Join in for devonshire & scone morning tea, dominos and Bingo followed by lunch. Cost is $5, held at the CWA Room corner Cudgery & Myrtle Street.
